INTRODUCTION

The rise of digital has shifted the way we live and work. Current technologies have enabled many to adopt a digital lifestyle when it comes to travel, food, entertainment, knowledge and many more. At the the workplace, the rise of cloud computing, collaboration software, algorithms and artificial intelligence are changing how organisations work and create value and grow. Simultaneously, talent expectations are changing. The resulting implications are significant as it influences how organisations function and how people are managed.

This round table discussion shall delve deeper in the future of work in the digital age, distilling what organisations can and should do to future proof themselves. We bring together views from global prior conversations and want to hear from you, our local thought leaders, your perspective during the round table discussion.

Kevin Allen will be starting off with how organisations can utilise Exponential Thinking. This will be followed by Alejandro Kikuchi who will share his experience in the Gig Economy and how it has been shifting the way people work. Ru will be sharing the co-working trends and the workplace shift, while Azim will be talking about the use of social technologies and algorithms in work processes and operations. Last but not least, Director of Future Agenda, Tim Jones, will share trends trends and potential challenges that would impact large companies.

Director, Future Agenda

Tim is a recognised expert in innovation, growth and futures and runs several platforms for helping companies grow. He is the author of 10 related books and a regular speaker on innovation leadership, growth and future trends. Tim is Co-Founder and Programme Director of Future Agenda - an open source think tank and advisory firm that runs the world's leading open foresight programme. Future Agenda has delivered two unique multi-topic global projects across 50 countries involving thousands of experts in discussions and complements this work with ongoing focused projects looking at key shifts taking place around specific issues such as the future of cities, philanthropy and patient data. Associated insights are shared and used by many different organisations as stimulus for challenge, decision-making and new thinking.

Alejandro has had 15+ years working with tech companies. He is passionate on changing how the world works since 2012 when he launched Workana, a platform where businesses grow efficiently by relying on a workforce of qualified freelancers. With his team, they spearheaded the growth of the company since day one, positioning it as the industry leader across all of Latin America, including Brazil. He is now leading the expansion into SEA since early 2019, with a regional headquarters setup in KL, Malaysia.

Head of Operations, Common Ground​​

As Common Ground’s Head of Operations, Ru drives & implement the strategic directions for the business, monitors customer feedback, and leverages analytics to identify opportunities to improve business efficiency. She is responsible for leading multiple operational teams ad projects including Hospitality Services and Facilities, and the success of all operational support for the Community management teams. Ru enjoys exploring and implementing process improvement measures, while collaborating with the Common Ground crew and potential partners. Prior to Common Ground, she was the regional operations manager at CEO Suite, where she worked with 19 diverse teams and centres across Asia to maintain and improve the operational excellence.

Dr Suraya Sulaiman is a specialist on the social side of innovation implementation, in aspects relating to innovation leadership, culture and capability. She has played an active role in designing and implementing innovation strategies at a national and corporate level
