World Congress on Innovation & Technology 2022
In the most recent WCIT 2022 Malaysia, Mr. Azim Pawanchik and Dr. Suraya Sulaiman were invited to lead discussions. Mr. Azim and Dr. Suraya, respectively, led the conversation on "Innovation for Good: Unleashing Innovation to Make the World a Better Place" and "The Role of Government in Connecting the World."
Key conclusions from the panel discussion Dr Suraya had with Jia Rong Low, HE Amb. Alexander Mora of Costa Rica, and Mr. Sivanesan, Deputy Secretary General of the TKSU (T) Ministry of Communications and Multimedia on the topic of the role of government in connecting the world:
1. When it comes to developing legislation, governments need to be flexible, especially when it comes to new technologies.
2. In order to manage expectations and keep everyone informed of the dynamic and changing conditions, communication with all stakeholders on this strategy is essential.
3. The implementation of new projects requires strategic collaborations, and these partnerships should go beyond CSR.
4. Governments that are embarking on digital transformation should ensure a holistic approach. One possible reference is OECD's Going Digital Integrated Policy Framework
